While we all are busy with our #NYEPartyPlans it is also the resolution time for New Year 2015. Needless and preachy to say that post parties we should not drink and drive.
While we all are busy with our #NYEPartyPlans it is also the resolution time for New Year 2015.
Needless and preachy to say that post parties we should not drink and drive.
Well you must be wondering what this has got to do with the title of the post.
Well, considering the repeated cases of drunk driving the traffic cops are taking a different route to curb this habit.
Of course they are going to be much stricter this year and all the measures are in place to take strict action against those caught drinking and driving.
But the Mumbai Traffic Cops have decided to reward people if found driving sober. They would reward you with a rose to appreciate your driving.
Yes, as per reports, this New Year’s Eve, on the night of 31st December, 7,500 roses will be distributed all across the city for sober driving.
The Traffic Police are looking at it as a positive initiative that would encourage the motorists to adhere to the traffic rules on the night of 31st.
This initiative was successfully run in Bangalore during the week of Road Safety 2012.
The Road Safety Activists in association with the Traffic Cops had distributed roses to drivers who followed road safety rules.
This year let us hope Mumbai would also be sporting the red roses all across.
Well as far as the cases of drunk driving are concerned, forget last year, let us see the number recorded this year during Christmas.
This month on Christmas Eve as per reports, 87 drunk-driving cases were recorded in Mumbai.
Only time will tell if the idea of distributing roses would actually work or not.
But let me put it this way, think of the idea of posting pictures of the roses received for good driving on Facebook.
So along with your New Year Party pictures you can also flaunt pictures of getting a rose from the Mumbai Traffic Police.
