Everybody is waiting for Achche Din!
Our political parties did promise us that good days will be here soon but as of now, they are nowhere to be seen.
Hence the search for achche din continues. May be, just may be, the search will end soon with the beginning of the new season of Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC)!
Of course, the winners on the show, no matter what amount they win, will definitely have reasons to celebrate and thank their luck and hard work. For rest of us, and for the country as whole, there might be more reasons to celebrate going by the promos of the soon-to-be-aired show!
Amitabh Bachchan has come to be associated with content that is different, that pulls the right chords and something that is always ethically and morally right. He has become kind of a wise old Grandfather of the country who seems to have a magic wand to always say and do the right thing. In the same spirit, the promos of the next season of KBC are also trying to bring to the focus the issues which touch each and every ordinary citizen of the country. Perhaps that is the reason both the promos have gone viral!
First promo talks about a girl from North-east who brings out a sensitive topic of racial bias towards people from that region. When Amitabh comments in the promo that everyone knows Kohima is in India, she just says, ‘Jaante toh sab hain, magar maante kitne hain?’ This is such a stark reality brought out with amazingly simple and hard-hitting words!
Even the second promo is simple yet having its heart in the right place. A Hindu boy calling his Muslim neighbors using phone-a-friend option to know the meaning of As-salamu alaykum breaks a thick wall of animosity; not just between those two neighbors but between the two communities as well! What can be a greater message than of peace by using such simple tools?
Of course we all know that these promos are nothing but acts of fiction and actual reality is far different, but then what makes us think that it can’t get real? Every good deed starts from the first step. This reality game show, which feeds on human greed of materialism, is beginning to preach and practice something that has a deeper meaning! We can always hope that this can very well be the start of a new thought process, considering the fact that none other than someone of the stature of Amitabh Bachchan is propagating these thoughts!
Hats off to the team of the show and Big B for coming up with such gems and going beyond the usual enticement of monetary benefits that one can earn out of the game!
There definitely seems to be Achche Din right around the corner!
