The director was seen weeping like a kid on national television recently. Johar who is busy judging India’s Got Talent these days was in absolute shock when he saw this one-legged contestant appear on stage claiming that she is here to dance. Karan, along with the other judges Malaika and Kirron Kher, shot puzzled expressions at Shubh Kaur Gumman, who came all the way from Punjab to show her talent on stage.
But the moment she started dancing on Chikni Chameli, her confidence on par with a Bollywood heroine’s, Karan watched her in utter amazement. His jaw literally dropped and his eyes turned bulbous out of astonishment.
The girl won hearts with her spirit and enthusiasm. And she also managed to convey a very important message. We have people begging on the streets despite having all their body parts intact; they should be called disabled and not people like her. Johar appreciated the contestant by saluting her spirit and her mother’s strength. He said that no man can match up to that kinda strength.
Gumman had lost her leg because of a doctor’s negligence. But that doesn’t change the fact that she’s still a powerhouse of talent, passionate about dancing, willing to put on a great show whenever she’s asked to perform of course!
