The comedian should perhaps start wearing ‘evil eye’ accessories to keep problems at bay. He has been facing some or the other hurdle for a long time now. A new issue has cropped up again to give Kapil an intolerable headache. Women from a certain institute are highly offended with the way Sharma has made fun of pregnant ladies in a couple of episodes of Comedy nights with Kapil. Those women have filed a complaint against him as they thought his statements were extremely derogatory.
Even singer Palash Sen was controversy’s favourite child recently. During his performance at the IIT fest, he asked the crowd if there are any good looking women around and a horde of boys yelled back saying ‘no’. The female students treated Sen’s remark with a great deal of contempt. They thought it was highly sexist.
Getting back to the Kapil Sharma case, the stand-up performer might have to deal with some legal battles. He hasn’t come out in the open and commented on the issue yet.
All this brouhaha really makes me wonder if women are losing their sense of humour? Are we taking ourselves too seriously? Are we giving way too much importance to things that don’t deserve our attention?
