Sallu bhai went on to ask some of the contestants their chronological age, just to prove that nobody is a thumb sucking kid in the house. During the ‘tell your age honestly’ process, the one person who really made me raise my eyebrows, just like one of those suspicious vamps in one of those tacky K serials, is Gauhar Khan. As Salman asked ‘G’ her umar, she paused for a nano second (one of those brief pauses when you are stuck between ‘should I’ or ‘shouldn’t I’), and said 29. Well, Wikipedia says something else Gauhar-ji; not that it’s the ultimate source for checking facts, but at times, when nothing works, it’s the best place to do some harmless jaasosi. So it says Ms Khan was born on August 23, 1981, which means she’s 32.
And if Wiki is to be believed, why did Ms Khan have to lie about her age. Is it because she didn’t want to reveal it to the whole world that there’s quite a difference between Kushal and her age? Just because Kush said it’s 28 on the show, the best jhooth she could come up with is 29, so that it sounds convincing?
Looks like Gauhar needs to take some serious inspiration from women like Farah Khan and Anjali Tendulkar, who have fallen head over heels in love with men way younger to them and have absolutely no shame in admitting it. Or was Gauhar worried that if she reveals her real age, Kushal would call her a ‘budhi’ too? Phew! Anyhthing’s possible on this maddening show.
