Looking into the newest serial from Ekta kapoor’s stable for Color’s. It double as Gauri Pradhan’s comeback stint.
Ekta Kapoor is not known as the godess of the telly world for nothing. Despite making it big with her banner in Bollywood, Jeetendra’s daughter fails to stay away from her staple saas bahu sagas for long. While she has made a strong foothold with hit serials on Zee TV and Sony, there is buzz that Colors will see its maiden Ekta Kapoor serial soon.
Set to air soon during the 10 pm slot on the channel, Ekta’s latest serial will mark the comeback of Gauri Pradhan. For those with weaker memories, Gauri made a name for herself with Kutumb, years back. It was since then that she considered Ekta her mentor and planned to break her hiatus with her show. When asked that why Gauri quit the industry at the peak of success, she adds that there was serious lack of interesting projects. She also clarified that she had never quit the industry but merely played her cards right to make a comeback with the right show.
She trusted Ekta to bring the right character for her and thus, the latest serial will see Gauri in a powerful role of a widowed mom. She will be seen as an upright woman who takes her own decisions and does not give in to the typical pressures of society.
In addition, the serial will star Shakti Arora in the lead too. While there had been talks with Kinshuk Mahajan, last seen in Bidaai, Shakti was finalized at the end. While Balaji Telefilms has not stated other details of their upcoming soap, we did get snippets that the plot will be based on a Gujarati household. It is nostalgic, given that Ekta’s first biggie on telly, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was perched on a Gujju family, the Viranis.
Gauri meanwhile, is excited to be working with her mentor director again. She had done reality television sometime back with Nach Baliye but she says that it failed to excite her as much as she anticipated. While hubby Hiten Tejwani has remained an Ekta loyalist by sticking to even a non-lead role in Pavitra Rishta, Gauri found it wise to wait.
While fans wonder if Hiten will make an appearance in the new Colors serial, Gauri clarifies saying that he is a separate entity and just being a couple does not entitle them to appear together onscreen always. Meanwhile, Hiten is all set to make his episodic debut on MTV’s show “Webbed” soon. This is the first time that he has ventured into such an arena.
