No, learning about Drashti Dhami’s exit from Jhalak Dikhla Jaa doesn’t hurt, but a kick on the ass surely does!
That too when one is kicked out from the very show she had won in the previous season.
Given Drashti’s huge popularity and now-gone-crazy fan base due to her fictional show, Madhubala for the same channel, this sacking would have come as a rude shock.
But then, it is a good move by the channel for the ultimate good of the dance reality show.
Let us not be emotional about her exit. This was actually over due given the fact that Drashti really sucked as a host on such a vibrant and colorful show. Even the company of someone as witty as Ranvir Shorey as a co-host failed to get her lips moving or her eyes expressing some emotions rather than giving a blank stare all the bloody time!
Even though it is not a live show, still, being an anchor requires spontaneity, sense of humor and lots and lots of presence of mind. Guess she is more comfortable to rote her lines as a parrot for a fictional show than using her head and improvise on the spur of the moment for a reality show! What a waste!
During promotions for Jhalak Dikhlla jaa.., Drashti had given an interview in which she spoke about being a host for the first time as well as about her alleged link up with Saurabh Shukla. For her rumored link-up, she had said that the person who started the rumor should burn in hell and be castrated!
That was harsh, isn’t it?
About her stint as a host, she boasted about possessing sharply-edged sarcasm which people might find difficult to even understand. Now, wish she had used the same attitude on the show rather than giving scandalistic bytes about her link-ups!
Her latest tweet mentioning her ouster from the show again smells of gaining sympathy and popularity rather than acknowledging the fact that she actually screwed up on the show!
She tweeted, ‘Tweepies – my journey at ‘Jhalak…’ comes to an end. Thank u all for ur love & support’.
We think, she should have actually apologized to her so called fans and followers for giving them boredom with her clueless acts as an anchor. Just being a pretty face and having decent acting skills doesn’t mean that she has to put her finger in every pie! Better, keep her finger on the lips and sit silent!
Latest is that Manish Paul will replace her and this is such a relief!
His funny antics coupled with Ranvir’s own charismatic comedy might lift up the entertainment factor of the show. Let us hope for the best!
