Last seen directing Chennai Express, looks like Shetty is tired of being the ‘behind the scenes’ guy. Ditching the camera for the mike, Rohit will be seen motivating, encouraging, and rebuking the contestants on the show in his own sweet style. The show will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa.
Rohit is confident that he will do great justice to the show as action is in his blood. Since his movies are a cool melange of action and entertainment, the filmmaker believes that no one can host KKK better than him because the format of the show is similar.
But can he do a better job than Akshay Kumar? If you remember Akki was such a taskmaster in season 4, always discouraging the participants from chickening out and encouraging them to put their best foot forward. He was like one of those strict school teachers but at the same time he also made sure to lighten up the contestants with his tacky jokes.
Shetty is undoubtedly an accomplished filmmaker but imagining him as an articulate and an entertaining host is a little difficult. Hope he doesn’t end up mouthing the kinda cheesy jokes he incorporates in his films, ‘coz that’s one kind of humour I am definitely not looking forward to in a hard-core action show like Khatron Ke Khiladi!
