To lure more Indian tourists,four-city roadshow featuring the latest updates, highlights and attractions, brought forward by the German National Tourist Office(GNTO), reached the capital on Thursday. The roadshow began on February 5th in Chennai and covered cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. It brought together over 2,500 travel trade representatives who along with GNTO discussed the bestselling practices for destination Germany.”With the help of these roadshows, we have projected Germany as the hottest tourist destination in Europe and will definitely attract India travellers,” said GNTO director (sales and marketing) Romit Theophilus. He added that Germany has retained its position as the second most visited destination by Indians in Europe after the United Kingdom. According to Theophilus, over 2.3 lakh Indian travellers visited the country between January and May 2013. Some GNTO partners that took part in the roadshow included Lufthansa, Frankfurt and Munich airports, Maritim Hotel and Saxony Tourism.
