Our Pets Are Our Family! Let Us Make Sure They Travel Comfortably!

If you consider your pet as your family, then you would surely want them to travel along.

To make it a pleasurable journey for the pet and you too, here are a few tips to follow:

>>   Consider the age of your pet before you plan a journey. A pet must be older than 4 months and not too old, to be able to travel comfortably.

>>   Make a thorough research on all the rules and regulations before you organize an air or train journey with your pet.

 

>>   Take your pet to the vet, at least a week before the travel for all the necessary vaccinations. Carry the vaccination certificates and the prescribed medication (if any) all the time with you. It is advisable to postpone the travel in case the pet is not fit.

>>   Travelling by road with your pet is the easiest option. Make sure that your pet is accustomed to long hours of car rides.

>>   Carry a thick blanket, if travelling by car, to save the seats.

>>   In case of air travel, the pet will be going in a special pet crate or will be booked as cargo, in case the weight of the pet along with the crate is over 30kg. Make sure the pet has enough room inside the crate and is left with the favourite toys.

>>   Feed your pet appropriately, keeping in consideration the time that it will be spending inside the pet crate.

>>   Make a check on the destination. It must be a pet friendly destination. Check for the suitable climate and surroundings.

>>   Carry your pet’s favourite accessories and toys with you.

>>   Keep your pet leashed all the time, at the airport, while the routine security checks are being conducted.

>>   If your pet gets uncomfortable in unfamiliar environments or due to loud noise, you can always ask for a separate room where you can be with your pet till the formalities get completed.

>>   Carry a pooper scooper and some litter bags along with you.
