Trance Goa
This must be the most predictable destinations on this list, but it’s without doubt one of the happening party destinations in India. This small beach town boats of numerous wild psychedelic trance parties, with blaring techno beats and grooving galore. While many head to Anjuna, parties are secretly organized in Aarambol. The beach hosts the best parties, which are strictly secret, so no point asking your hotel manager. Make inroads and get invited.
Groovy Manali
On a full moon night, between December and January, Manali and Parvati Valley transform into a wild party destination. Usually held away from the main town, either in a forest or near the river, this party is surely an experience to tell fables about. Since they aren’t easy to find, the best option is to ask the locals to guide you to its location. Conducted under the open sky, this overnight extravaganza is unusual in its setting. The psychedelic and trance music is a perfect accompaniment to the moon-lit night revealing a tinge of the Himayalan range in distance.
Other Side of Pushkar
Pushkar is most famous for its Lake, which most of the tourists throng to for religious reasons. However, the town is known among foreign tourists for its numerous quirky cafes and nightlife. The place holds several secret parties in remote areas of this holy town. With no mention on any event page, these parties can only be known through word of mouth.
Jaipur by the Night
Many wouldn’t associate Jaipur with parties at all. Also known as the pink city, Jaipur is popular for its monuments and old forts. But the city also has an amazing night life on offer. There are several popular places to party in this city, namely — Devil’s Club, Cafe Kooba or Amigos Bar & Discotheque. If by day the city is a chaos, by night it transforms into a party capital. If you are a late night party monger, visit the midnight markets, go to a tea house or visit the large cinema outside the old city before you jump in the pool of trance.
High up The Hills in McLeodganj
This hippie town, with its exiled Tibetan parliament, is one of the most visited places by foreign tourists. The town offers several European style cafes and sit outs. But, the real fun is up above the hills. These parties are not advertised, so make friends and get invited to one. Trek through the evening to reach the hill top and then all you have to do is relax. In the morning, enjoy the spectacular view around. If you are lucky, a moon-lit night will offer silver landscape with high rising mountains and tall pine trees.
Holiday season is up for the roll. And so would be you!
So this season party in style, but party safe!
