Earrings are passé. It’s time to flaunt one of the hottest accessories of this season, the ear cuff. It’s sophisticated and chic, very edgy and looks great on almost everybody! We tell you how you can rock this look like a pro. Take a look:
Complement your make-up:
One of the best ways to make your cuffs pop is to complement your make-up with your cuffs. If you’re opting for a dark pair of cuffs, make sure your make-up is of a similar shade as well. If your cuffs are silver, go for white-based make-up. Especially if you’re a beginner, follow this step religiously.
Dark lips:
Go for bold and bright lips that will look smashing against your cuffs. Go for interesting contrasts, like bold lips with soft cuffs and edgy lips with edgier designs. If you’re going for peppy colours like tangerine, coral and hot pinks, opt for cuffs that have a hint of these colours so that the studs don’t look out of place.
Updos:
While doing up your hair, go for classy updos that will show off your cuffs in the best possible way. If updo isn’t an option, go for side-swept hair that’s gelled behind your ear. This look works well if you’re sporting a single cuff. Pulled back updos will elevate your look like no other.
Accessory:
In order to keep all the attention directed towards your face and hair, go for a hairclip or beads in the same shade/similar design as the cuffs. You can opt for a funky hair band too. Experiment with slide pins, bobby pins and beads. But do remember to keep your make-up subtle when you’re drawing all the attention towards your face and hair.
Avoid necklaces:
One of the rookie mistakes people make is that they thrown in a necklace along with ear cuffs. It’s a strict no-no. Keep your neck bare and other accessories minimal when going for cuffs as they have to be your statement piece. If your cuffs come with hoops or chains, keep your hands also bare, except a watch and couple of rings.
While cuffs are an interesting trend, they are not here to stay for a long time. So indulge in this fad till it lasts. Buy funky, affordable ones that you can pair with both Indian and western wear.
