In other words, ‘doing your family’? It’s one of the grossest things to ever happen to mankind, but if you go back in time…we have the literature to prove that there were such people (people?) who had the hots for their close relatives. Ouch.
If you have the opportunity, do pick up any of the stuff from old novels and books and there would be a sub-plot or nuanced references to incest. It was rather prevalent during the reign of kings and queens as they married their cousins/siblings to keep the wealth from dwindling away. Perhaps that’s what has given birth to such tales. Or perhaps not. We would never know.
In fact, Oedipus complex (or having sexual fantasy for your mother) is a very common issue with most teens. The concept is named after Oedipus, who (due to unfortunate circumstances) married his own mother.
What we have observed, after talking to a lot of people, is that they wouldn’t mind going for bi-sexual encounters or even threesomes, but incest is something that’s eww. It’s gross, yucky and totally uncalled for. Nobody in their right minds would want to bang their father or mother or sister or brother. Even the idea is repelling. But it does happen where wealth and property are involved.
It does make for a grim scenario where siblings marry each other and produce offspring who are not that genetically evolved. Doctors and scientific studies have proved that a child from an incestuous relationship can have a host of ailments, thanks to the same-breed copulation.
But that’s not what makes this union a eww one, it’s the whole idea of having sexual relations with someone from your own family. Even if you are stuck in an attic (ala Flowers In The Attic), you’ll never be able to indulge in something like this. Would you?
What is it that makes us want to throw up when a topic of this sort is raised? Why do we feel like closing our eyes and shutting the image out? Is it because…deep down we all have that spark to indulge in incest? Even thinking about it can make one shudder, right?
The point of the article is just that. To make you shudder. To make you think about the idea of incest and how people (like you and I) are indulging in it.
