Planets are the parts of universes; different research and initiatives are reaching to the planets and finding information. In recent years the maximum experiments were for Mars, but it does not mean that research is not for other parts of the universe. Once it was known to everyone that there are nine planets and the smallest is Pluto. It is the ninth planet in the Kuiper belt away from the sun. But according to the scientists, there are few reasons that dwarf Pluto is not a planet.
There are three reasons that it is necessary to accept as the planet. Being the dwarf Pluto, a planet it has been the most favorite. It is already known that it is another one that has been discovered to have water. When there is water, natural satellite, then it is still out of the list. Despite all these possibilities what are the reasons that Pluto is not a planet.
The reason that scientist believes that the Dwarf Pluto is not planets
The planet is spherical in shape and so rotates around the sun. The ninth planet is away from the sun but it not as dominating and strong enough. Partially it carries the features of the other planets but it does not have the ability to shoo far the debris and other neighborhood planetary objects. So, it can hardly be able to dominate to stand alone as a planet similar to other planets.
It was in 2006 that the decision of removing Pluto from the lists of planets. Still, it becomes difficult to believe that the favorite is no longer in the lists of the planets.
Does not fit the modern criteria of the planet?
According to the scientist’s declaration about the features in 2006, stated that the planets should have three main features. After which it may be considered as a planet. They are:
- A planet should be able to revolve around the sun.
- Secondly is the gravitational force that enables it to revolve into a spherical shape. The size of the planet matters for a forceful rotating.
- Thirdly, it should be strong enough to rotate around and push away all the debris and other objects of the neighborhood planets.
The size of the planet has been reducing and now it is 1459 times smaller than the size of the earth. Slowly the reduction of the size is indicating that the dwarf Pluto is smaller than the moon. Charon, which is a natural satellite and it is Pluto’s moon. But once again the size of the moon and the planet did not justify and support the evidence of Pluto to be a planet.
The dwarf planet is able to meet the two requirements. That is to be a sphere or similar to a spherical shape. And it should rotate around the sun. But could not comply with the third feature as a dominancy to clear its path of rotation. It is one of the reasons that Dwarf Pluto is not a planet.
