Dalai Lama said about Nehru – Partition Of India-Pakistan is such a painful period for many natives.
It is not less than a traumatic experience for many Indians. At the same time, it is the heart throbbing decision for the freedom fighter who actually paid their blood for freedom.
When we think about the time of partition our soul shakes, the real-life stories of those who suffered during partition are really scary.
One just cannot forget that how women’s dignity was looted and mass slaughter was done on the name of the partition. The pain of partition is still there in the hearts of citizens of both India and Pakistan.
People were divided into two nations over a night, their relatives who used to be their co-citizens became foreigners over just one night.
Well! you cannot deny the fact that partition happened for the sake of some political benefits only. But the major question is ‘Who was responsible for the partition’? And you know the question is still there even after 70 years of partition and Independence. However, some people consider Mohammad Ali Jinnah responsible for this painful split, and some Nehru.
Now the Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama said about Nehru and his strategies.
Dalai Lama said about Nehru –
After the statement by the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, the India-Pakistan partition issue has come again in the headlines. In a college program in Goa, the Dalai Lama described the persecution of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as the reason for the partition of India. He was addressing college students in Panaji, the capital of Goa, he said that Mahatma Gandhi wanted to hand over the post of first Prime Minister of Independent India to Jinnah, but Pandit Nehru did not want to do so.
The ignorance of Mahatma Gandhi’s decision became the reason for the partition of India-Pakistan.
Not only this, the Dalai Lama has described India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as a self-centred person.
Tibetan leader Dalai Lama said, “Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to become the first Prime Minister of the country. If he would have agreed with Mahatma Gandhi to make Jinnah a PM, then the country would not divided into two parts. ”
On the statement of the Dalai Lama, BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy also agreed, Swami said yes Gandhiji’s did think that Nehru is a self-centred person. Gandhiji knew that Jawaharlal Nehru thought more about himself than the country.
Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has also said that Jinnah did not want to make a separate country for Muslims. Instead, Mohammad Ali Jinnah was only in favour of making the commission, in which special rights were given to Muslims, Sikhs and other minorities. But Indian leaders Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Azad and Sardar Patel had refused to accept the conditions of this commission.
While the BJP is supporting the statement of the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Congress is very upset with his statement. Congress claims that it is PM Modi’s strategy behind the statement of the Dalai Lama. Such a statement in election time can increase the difficulties for the Congress.
This is what Dalai Lama said about Nehru – Well! whosoever was responsible for the partition, it was the citizens who actually suffered the most, the ones who really who had nothing to do with politics.
