Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel grabbed pole position for the US Grand Prix, the second-to-last race of the Formula One season.
The 26-year-old German, who has already clinched this year’s drivers’ title, will start first Sunday after posting a qualifying time of 1:36.338 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The Red Bull superstar will be joined on the first row by teammate Mark Webber, who recorded a time of 1:36.441 in Saturday’s qualifying.
Frenchman Romain Grosjean, who drives for Lotus, and German Sauber driver Nico Hülkenberg will start third and fourth, respectively.
British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, the defending champion of the US Grand Prix, and Spain’s Fernando Alonso, who drives for Ferrari, will start on the third row.
The final race of the 2013 Formula One season will take place next weekend in Sao Paulo.
