Indian sports is heading in the right direction and no wonder, we see a pool of talent in every sport today. 2014 has set in and already a host of names are taking the podium of being the numero uno in the world of sports. Here we take a look at the best emerging talents in Indian sports today:

PV Sindhu (Badminton)
Saina Nehwal is not the only sport star in Indian badminton today. 18-year old PV Sindhu has taken the Indian badminton scene by storm after she won the bronze medal at the World Championship in China and also clinched two Grand Prix Gold titles — Malaysia and Macau — last year. Even though Sindhu ended up on the losing side against opponent Saina Nehwal in the Syed Modi International this year, great things are expected from her who is currently ranked number 9 in the world!

Anirban Lahiri (Golf)
India’s number one golfer, Anirbhan Lahiri is on a high at the moment. He is ranked above the likes of Gaganjeet Bhullar, Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur. Lahiri is now targeting to break in the Top 50 golfers in the world, and with current form, he can be India’s answer to Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Sanju Samson (Cricket)
Former India captain Rahul Dravid once said, “Sanju is learning and growing fast as a good batsman.” Without a doubt, Sanju Samson is the ‘next big thing’ for Indian cricket. Samson, who is having a rollicking time with the bat at the ICC U-19 World Cup, could be handed a senior debut for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Vishnu Vardhan (Tennis)
Indian tennis’ upcoming star, Vishnu Vardhan who hails from Hyderabad, is yet another star prospect on the rise. He might be ranked 344 in the world but Vishnu is one dedicated bloke who partnered Sania Mirza in the 2010 Asian Games and also won a silver medal. His biggest moment of the career came when he partnered fellow Indian Leander Paes at the London 2012 Olympics in the Doubles event.

It may not be too long for these names to set in the hearts and minds of every Indian fan. If India are to progress in the sporting fraternity, the above mentioned stars can be the ones to take it forward.
