One thing Steve was famous for is driving a car that had no licensed number plate. Yes, apart from breaking the records with his Apple products, Steve was also known for breaking vehicle law in California. As mentioned earlier, Steve lived a life of a simple man in California and used to drive silver Mercedes SL55 AMG. One thing that caught everyone’s attention is Steve used to drive silver Mercedes SL55 AMG to his office without a licensed number plate.
In spite of being a billionaire and person with highest status in the society, why did Steve decide to break the vehicle law in California? Well, let’s not forget the fact that the founder of Apple is a man with high level of intelligence and hence there might be a solid reason behind this strange act of the billionaire. He decided to break the law after he was able to find a loophole in California Vehicle law.
According to the California vehicle law, a person who owned new car can get maximum 6 months to affix the issued numbered place on the car. Now, Steve jobs made an agreement with a leasing company where he assured to change his car during the sixth month of the lease. He used to exchange his silver Mercedes SL55 AMG for another identical car. So, this allowed Steve to use brand new cars after every 6 months which means he did not use cars for more than 6 months. Also, this new technique of Steve solved the problem of the number plate.
According to reports, it is said that “One might also assume that the leasing company was happy – they had an endless supply of luxury cars to on-sell with the previous driver being none other than Steve Jobs.”
Well, further reports state that Steve Jobs did not want anyone to track him through the number plate and hence he decided to drive car without a number plate.
