Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Celebrates Diwali with Indian Community in Ottawa !

Justin Trudeau celebrates Diwali – Diwali is a festival to slay the evil and seek peace and prosperity from the Goddess Lakshmi.

Diwali is redolent of good triumphing over the evil and is otherwise known as the festival of lights. Diwali is a predominant festival in India which is celebrated by lighting Diyas and candles and not to forget, burning crackers. In Diwali, Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja is held in Indian households. The said gods are believed to shower wealth and prosperity in one’s life. Gifts are shared between friends and families to show love for each other.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended his heartfelt Diwali greetings to India and all the Indian communities all over the World in Twitter. In a warmer gesture, he charmed hearts as he joined an Indian community in Ottawa, Canada to celebrate Diwali with them. While his Happy Diwali Tweet left Indians enamoured, he gave more reasons to respect him as he joined the Diwali celebrations.

‘Diwali Mubarak’ Trudeau wrote in Twitter along with a photo of him lighting a ceremonial lamp in anIndian black ethnic embroidered Sherwani. He further added ‘We’re celebrating in Ottawa tonight”.

Cutting across the barriers of culture, Justin Trudeau Celebrates Diwali with an amicable enthusiasm which sends a positive message to the Indians at large. However, this is not the first time he has joined Diwali celebrations or that is to say, any Indian festival, he does it almost every year to make the Indians at Canada feel at home. If seen from a political perspective, this move is appreciable since a large number of Indians reside in Canada. One can’t say that this is too extravagant but definitely heart-warming on our part, especially when in the other side there is a leader of his stature.
