While India was concentrating on the idea of demonetization of money and was struggling for Rs. 500 from ATM, this big fat 500 crores Indian wedding took the internet by storm.
While marriage is a sacred affair, some people in India don’t leave a chance to flaunt off her extraordinary wealth and status at such times.

1. Brahmani Reddy Wedding
The total cost of politician G Janardhana Reddy’s daughter Brahmani’s marriage was Rs. 500 Crore. No that’s not enough because the bride’s diamond necklace was worth Rs. 25 crore and rest of the jewelry amounted to 150 crores in total. Wait because there is something more to mention. The marriage was held in a lavish Bangalore palace were the price of each wedding plate was approx. Rs. 3000 and there were 50,000 guests in total.
2. Sahara Chief Subrata Roy’s sons’ double wedding
The total cost of Sahara Chief Subrata Roy’s sons’ double wedding was Rs.552 crore. In 2004, Sushanto got married to Richa and Seemanto got married to Chandini at the Sahara Auditorium in Lucknow. The wedding was attended by big shots of Bollywood including Kapil Dev, Anil Ambani among others.
3. Lakshmi Mittal’s niece Shrishti Mittal ‘s wedding
With over more than 200 chefs and butlers from India and Thailand, Shrishti Mittal’s wedding was one among the luxurious one. The wedding took place in Barcelona at the National Museum of Catalan Art atop a hill and the total cost of the wedding is said to be Rs. 500 crore. Too much eh?
4. Lakshmi Mittal’s daughter Vanisha Mittal’s wedding
After Shrishti, Vanisha’s wedding was a luxurious affair with high-profile celebrities and businessman to attend the function. Vanisha got married to Amit Bhatia in 2004 in Versailles. The dance of the wedding was choreographed by Farah Khan and the marriage was attended by Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and many more.
5. Lalit Tanwar’s wedding
Son of Congress minister, Kanwar Singh Tanwar, Lalit Tanwar’s wedding with the daughter of another politician, Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria cost the two families for Rs. 250 crores. The wedding was held in Delhi where guests received 30 gm silver biscuits and cash in return. However, the in-laws gifted a super expensive gift to the groom and it is none other than a Bell 429 helicopter!
6. Vineeta Agarwal’s wedding
Vineeta Agarwal is the daughter of a UK-based billionaire, Pramod Agarwal. Vineeta’s wedding was held in California where Mr. Agarwal chose 17 acres of San Clemente Island for the function. One among the major highlights of the wedding was live performances of top singers which also included Shakira.
7. Vikram Chatwal and Priya’s wedding
Vikram married to a banker and model Priya and the total cost of the wedlock is said to be Rs. 100 Crore. Bollywood royalty as well as European royalty were in attendance. Nevertheless, unfortunately, this super expensive wedding ended in divorce.
