Song titled ‘˜Aare Aare’ was launched yesterday by Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie titled ‘Besharam’ is all set to release on 2nd October, 2013 and just yesterday the actor launched another song from the movie titled ‘Aare Aare’. Sung by popular singer Mika, the song is a peppy number mixed in Hindi-Punjabi language and will remind you of typical Bollywood songs with thousands and thousands of background dancers grooving to same steps. Set in a mela-kind of environment, the song is fun but fails to leave an impression.
How much ever I may adore Ranbir and his good looks and his acting skills and his charming personality, I have to admit that Besharam doesn’t seem to give that ‘Ranbir’ vibe. The promos are underwhelming, the songs are average and more so overall it doesn’t have the actors’ trademark.
It also maybe because we have seen Ranbir do such marvellous roles in Wake Up Sid, Rockstar, Barfi and recently Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani that it’s getting difficult to accept him in a mediocre role such as Babli of Besharam. No doubt his acting, brazen attitude, dance, everything looks perfect in the promos but still that magic is missing. It also maybe as an audience I expect him to charm me each time he comes on-screen.
They say with Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Ranbir has broken the Khan-curse and has proven to be as financially viable an actor as them and that too in such a short span of time in his career. I really admire the way he has always chosen the right roles, delivered some exemplary performances and till date maintains a humble attitude, despite all personal relationship controversies. But with Besharam, I sincerely hope this reign doesn’t end because after a long time, Bollywood has seen an actor in the truest sense.
Just like his father, Ranbir has the potential to win hearts just by his looks but it is his acting, the natural ease by which he gets into the skin of his character which makes him more adorable, more appealing. In Besharam for the first time Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir Kapoor are coming together in one frame and probably this would save the movie if nothing else. As a Ranbir Kapoor fan, I will definitely watch the movie but the question is will it be worth it? Best idea would be to do a Ranbir Kapoor movie-marathon before watching Besharam and fall in love with him all over again!
