11 day long festival of Ganesh Utsav has started from today.

Everyone is geared to welcome our beloved Lord Ganesha.

In Mumbai, this festival is celebrated with great cheer and pomp. So if you are in this city or any Mumbaikar who is planning for some pandal hopping then we have a list of best must visit Ganesh Pandals in Mumbai.

  1. Lalbagcha Raja

Lalbagcha Raja is one of the famous Ganesh pandals in Mumbai. Many believe that all your wishes come true if you visit here. This year the set of the pandal is designed by famous set designer Nitin Desai. Reportedly the ‘sheesh mahal’ set will be dismantled and will be used in the movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo after the occasion.

  1. Andheri cha Raja- Azad Nagar

This pandal is celebrating their golden jubilee so the celebrations, set design, idol and its decoration will be worth a dekko. This year the pandal’s set will be replica of another iconic temple of Gujarat- Ambaji Mata temple. This is not the only specialty that the Samiti has thought they have also roped in a very famous New York based designer Sai Suman to design Lord’s clothes.

  1. Mumbaicha Raja

Mumbaicha Raja is managed by Lalbag Sarvjanik Utsav Mandal (Ganesh Galli). It is also one of the famous and oldest mandals in Mumbai. This time the idol is kept in a setting that is a replica of Bajrangbali temple of Sarangpur, Gujrat. The Ganesh idol is adorned with golden jewellery and hands and feet sculpted from gold as well.

  1. GSB Mandal, Kings Circle

This mandal is considered to the richest in Mumbai. Last year, the idol was decked up with 80 kg of gold. This mandal is known for lavish décor and for embellishing the idol with lot of gold and by other precious gems. This year the idol is made from shadu clay which is exclusively brought from West Bengal. Also honorable chief minister has asked them to not bolster the grandeur.

  1. Fortcha Ichapurti

The preparation for Ganesh Chaturthi is done by Fort Vibhag Saravjanik Ganeshostsav Mandal Circle. This year their speciality is that the devotees will be blessed by not one but 42 Ganesh idols. The person in charge told to one of the media publications that they will be featuring different idols as found in 18 countries around the world. No doubt that the devotees will have a spell binding experience.

  1. Sahayadri Krida Mandal, Chembur

This year the mandal has designed a huge set which is replica of Maratha king’s palace. This time they want to pay tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji. Like everywhere their unique pandal design and theme will attract thousands of worshipers and we also suggest you attend this grandiose pandal.

  1. Khetwadicha Raja and Girgaoncha Raja

These two places are known for bringing tallest Ganpati idols in the city. Girgaon is known for their eco-friendly idols and Khetwadi cha will have 15 foot high idol and will be adorned with diamonds.
