I remember when it first aired in 2005. I had just finished my boards then and my aim then, was to become a doctor. What better could the universe had done my to me, than Grey’s Anatomy and all the free time in the world.
I remember when it first aired in 2005.
I had just finished my boards then and my aim then, was to become a doctor.
What better could the universe had done my to me, than Grey’s Anatomy and all the free time in the world. The entire cast instantly smote me. There had been serials, which showed the life of a doctor, but what this serial seemed so different and real. All that talk during the start and end of every episode made me follow it religiously. The series entailed everything- crazy relationship dynamics, workplace fundamentals, friends and family and how not to mingle your personal and professional lives. We share a few real life lessons we can learn from Grey’s Anatomy. Read on!
- Making your decision
You may be confused and think that the world is being hard on you all the time. But you have to make a decision at some point. The probability of things going wrong is as much as they going right. But what is life, if it’s not messy at times. That’s how we’re meant to live and learn. So, you can either waste your lives drawing lines or you can live your life crossing them.
- Dream big to achieve big
As human beings, there are times when it’s better to stay in the dark, but most of the times it’s the best to stay in light. There’ll also be times when no matter how hard you try, you’ll fall. And that is scary. But again, there’s a positive to falling as well. You learnt to get up and start afresh. And at the end of the day, you realize that in the face of life, the real dream is to dream it all.
- Change is good
I have never liked it. Maybe even you have not. But change is something, you cannot prevent from happening. You just have two options: either you adapt to change or you get left behind. Change is good sometimes, and the other times it is everything. I remember a character in the serial saying- the more things change, the more they stay the same.
- Let your guards down
You should be tough and badly tough, when the situation demands for it. But you don’t have to be tough every second of the day. It’s okay to let your guards down at times, cry if you want to. That, is going to make you possess more endurance. In fact, there are going to be times when letting your guards down is the only option you have. Why not try it before life gives you tough situations to handle with.
- Bad things happen and life goes on
You don’t know which day is going to be the best or the worst day of your life. But all the fear and pain you’re feeling in the worst situation of your life, is going to keep you moving forward. That is what pushes you and that is probably what is going to get you the best too.
- Scars are sign of competition
You may have physical and mental scars. Nobody knows what you’ve gone through. Not even if they tell you that they understand. But those scars you bear are the signs of a competition, that you participated in and will be a participant again in the future. Just because you did not win, does not mean you don’t know how to roar.
I finished watching the final season a few days back, and I have kept a few episodes on a repeat mode since then. Serials, do teach you a number of things. I am saying this because my mother told me otherwise, always.
