It would have been so better if Kejriwal spent more time fulfilling the promises he made in his manifesto rather than spending time on a 20 something list of people to pull off a popular antic for TV. The fear of a possible blackout looms large on Delhi public, the water woes are yet not over and there are people indulging in violence and hatred under his watch.
Making an amendment to his list of most corrupt politicians, Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal added two big names – Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Gujarat chief minister and Bhartiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
While the name of Sonia Gandhi has featured in many scams and other corrupt practices, inclusion of Narendra Modi, that too on a second thought, startles us.
It should be noted that Modi is named among one of the most honest politicians. Even though critics charge him for ‘inefficiency’ during the 2002 Gujarat riots despite a clean chit by the government to him, they very well are aware that Modi is a person who lives and governs by honesty.
The US cables leaked by Wikileaks featured Modi as ‘the incorruptible’ and the ‘lone honest politician in India’ despite its major differences from him. The Europe, along with US and UK and many other countries, has come to realize Modi’s honesty and importance as the emerging good leader of the country.
Gujarat has flourished and blossomed into the most desired state by the Indians to live in. The state is number one when it comes to economy, women safety and development. Lokayukta or no Lokayukta, the policing in the state is very good.
The state is all what Kejriwal would need as a model to follow. But he includes Modi in the criteria on his biasness, giving the logic of ‘politics of hatred’ behind it and, of course, ‘popular demand’ voiced by AAP supporters.
First of all, Kejriwal should clear his own house. He was neither able to suspend his ‘racist’ law minister Somnath Bharti, nor he was able to do lawful thing being chief minister of the state. Instead he caused major inconvenience to the people of Delhi by leading a two day dharna in the state. However legitimate his demands were, the method was legally and absolutely wrong.
Kejriwal has many cases and charges pending against him of which nine are criminal cases. One to make the list recently is of plagiarism. With the release of this list, several defamation cases are on its way to Kejriwal’s door.
Nobody, including Modi, needs a certificate from Kejriwal to call himself or herself honest. The people of the country are educated and knowledgeable enough to understand who is a better representative for them. Afterall, that is why elections are held so that people can choose a better leader.
What about including them in his list?
