Prime Minister Narendra Modi has planned to spend his Diwali with flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
We all are sitting pretty in our home on Diwali eve and planning what we will do tomorrow, what kind of crackers we will fire or not fire.
But the Prime Minister is preparing for a day with the people of the valley tomorrow.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has planned to spend his Diwali with flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
The agencies reported that PM Modi is expected to land at the airport in Srinagar at around 1 pm on Thursday. He will then go to the Raj Bhawan where he will meet members of flood-affected families, including women and children, from different parts of the Valley.
PM Modi will chair a meeting to review the relief and rehabilitation operations by the state and the central government agencies. He is also expected to visit the relief camps in Srinagar.
It is likely that PM Modi will announce another relief package adding to the already announced Rs 1,000 crore package to the flood hit state.
However, he will fly back to Delhi late in the evening.
The visit will definitely send out a strong political signal as the Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for polls to the J&K Assembly soon. BJP’s win in Maharashtra and Haryana is likely to affect the mood of the people in J&K with PM Modi sitting among them.
