If AAP is going to stick to its ‘œif-you-are-not-with-us-you-are-with-Modi’ policy, and wish to jail everyone who criticizes it, they should stop calling Modi ‘˜Hitler’. Because their leader is the new Hitler of the town.
Arvind Kejriwal holds neither the ‘power’ nor the ‘to be power’ sector and stands in the middle plank from where he can assume whatever position he wants. And this middle position, mind you, is the most powerful of all.
He displays this power now and then. Added to his powerful position was the government that he formed in Delhi. It is another matter altogether that he left the state hanging with its affairs ad chose to resign over a silly matter within 49 days.
“O ji dhokha ho gaya aam aadmi ke saath,” many would have repeated this pet line of his after he resigned for his personal ambition, or when he inconvenienced aam aadmi on several occasions in Delhi, Mumbai, or elsewhere, or when he chose to remain silent on Naxal attacks, or when he chose to be present at the fundraiser event despite his ‘ill-health’ than standing with the farmers of Vidarbha.
But Kejriwal now is more confident and dares to upset the media which gives him the maximum space. He is practically the darling of media, yet he toys with it and then kicks it hard in the shin to remind his powerful position. He insinuates the media of being a part of larger conspiracy, of course put on paper by BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi, and talks about putting people against him in jail. And polite applause for his guts that he does it while a “krantikari” video of his goes viral!
“Since the last one year, we have been told that Modi is here, Modi is there. Since one year, Modi has also been saying that. Even some TV channels have been saying that ‘Ram Rajya’ has come and corruption has vanished… Why did they do it? Because money has been paid to TV channels. Heavy amounts have been paid to promote Modi,” Kejriwal alleged in a video aired by a TV channel.
“Around 800 farmers have committed suicide in Gujarat in the past 10 years, but none of the channels showed it,” he alleged and added that farmers have sold their land to a company for just “one rupee but even this has not been shown by any channel.”
Hitting out at the media for focusing on his security deployment, he charged that the “whole media is sold this time, it is a big conspiracy, it is a huge political controversy. If our government comes to power then we will set up an inquiry into this. And along with the media people, all will be sent to jail”.
However, he backtracked from this remark as well like he did from his ‘Modi for PM’ and ‘Modi wave’ remark.
It is not news when he says that the whole media is “sold” and “heavy amounts” have been paid by Modi for the same. He has pulled that rant many a time. But it is news when his party, which is heavily sedated by the presence of sham journalists (and maybe ex-paid ones too), claims that they have proof of this shenanigan that they are trying to sell. Alas, that news is yet to come.
Although his party members attempted to defend Kejriwal and said that it would file a complaint against three news channels for an alleged bias towards the BJP. Party leader Sanjay Singh said they will petition the election commission against three channels, India TV, India News and Zee TV, for their biased coverage in favour of Modi. He also said that Times Now also carried news that was biased against the AAP.
Singh also demanded a probe into the sting operation that had allegedly found evidence that opinion polls on channels were rigged. “There should be a probe into the matter and action should be taken accordingly,” party spokesperson Ashutosh said.
First of all, AAP forgot Ashutosh’s former employer IBN-7 and NDTV. If they want to start looking into pad media cases and media biasness, why not start from Ashutosh and Burkha Dutt who has been quite biased in her entire career?
Second, there is a huge difference between being critical of a news or event and being biased. If you measure both by the same cup, even author of this article will be called biased and not critical of Kejriwal and his party’s actions.
Third, common, give us some proof! It was your leader Kejriwal who encouraged people to carry out sting operations. Didn’t you take part in the training? Don’t you have a camera phone like any other aam aadmi?
If no, stop issuing statements out of the blue. We are sick and tired of your nonsensical rants. Even Rahul Gandhi is working hard to straighten his act than you. Grow up and take criticism in a healthy way!
And if you are going to stick to your “if-you-are-not-with-us-you-are-with-Modi” policy, and wish to jail everyone who criticizes you, please stop calling Modi ‘Hitler’. Because your leader is the new Hitler of the town.
