Deep rooted communalism ‘“ BJP honours MLAs named in Muzaffarnagar riots

How can BJP be secular when Narendra Modi is communal?

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana, alleged of provoking communal violence in Muzaffarnagar, were on Thursday honoured at Narendra Modi’s rally in Agra on Wednesday.

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Modi addressed the rally later.

Sangeet Som, who was arrested for his suspected character in stirring communal violence in Muzaffarnagar, was lately set free on bail by a Deoband court. He was indicted of uploading a fake video that played a role in aggravating communal tension in Muzaffarnagar. He is also facing accusations of having made provocative speeches.

Suresh Rana was arrested from Lucknow on September 20 for his suspected role in fanning the communal riots which killed 62 persons and left 40,000 homeless.

BJP state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said on Wednesday, “These two MLAs were lodged in jail and NSA was slapped on them by the Samajwadi Party government. The party will be felicitating them at Modi’s rally in Agra and tell the people the truth about Muzaffarnagar riots.”

Claiming that the state government did not want the reality behind the riots to surface, Pathak said that one of the persons named in the case was made a state guest and given Y security by the government.

Well what else one can expect from BJP. How can BJP be secular when Modi is communal? By projecting Modi as it prime ministerial candidate, the BJP had undoubtedly embarked on the course of polarising the country on communal likes.
