By issuing a list, Kejriwal is playing a mind game which will get to the nerve of these politicians who may change their constituency or may opt out of elections. As the new trend in Congress and with its alliance partners is going, most of them are choosing Rajya Saha entry rather than contesting lok sabha elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party has chalked a new formula of success. They are not only going to fight elections, they are also going to play mindgames to ensure their win.
Delhi chief minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced on Friday that his party will not only fight on maximum seats to ensure clean image politicians in Parliament, they will also field candidates against corrupt politicians of various political parties to ensure that they do not enter the Parliament.
At the executive council meeting of his party in the capital, Kejriwal released a list of 20 politicians who, according to him and his party, are the most corrupt politicians of the country. He said that he was here to end corruption in the country adding that it was time to throw out those in Parliament who had criminal cases against them.
“Our aim is to end dynasty politics, we will give people a third option… AAP should draw up a list of good candidates,” he said.
The list is as below:

Kejriwal’s party is on an all-time low popularity after the infamous Delhi law minister Vinod Kumar Binny episode. To consolidate votes and keep the public faith in him going, Kejriwal needs to put public attention into this list as he would want the benefit of being a newcomer and surrounded by dirty politicians.
By issuing a list, Kejriwal is playing a mind game which will get to the nerve of these politicians who may change their constituency or may opt out of elections. As the new trend in Congress and with its alliance partners is going, most of them are choosing Rajya Saha entry rather than contesting lok sabha elections.
While one may agree with many names in the list, Kejriwal needs to provide the reason behind the inclusion of every name in the list. A mere criminal case against the politicians does not make them corrupt. If the case says so, AAP’s many MLAs will fall in the list, including Kejriwal who is now facing a case of plagiarism against him
The good thing that Kejriwal did was to urge his party workers to draw up a list of strong, clean candidates who could enter politics. But he needs to be doubly sure that there is no biasness regarding the list.
What he can also do is that he can rise above the party line and ask his party workers to draw up a list which includes clean image politicians from various parties. That will earn him not only the position of a non-biased person, which he has failed to do till now, it will also earn him more credibility in the eye of public.
