The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo is now available for sale online in India at Rs 16,750.
After first presenting the all-new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo at the Samsung Forum 2014 event in Bali, the Korean tech giant has made the tablet available in the Indian market with prices starting at Rs 16,750. The Galaxy Tab 3 Neo was originally launched globally as the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.
The tablet has not yet been listed on company’s official website but is being sold via an online retailer. Samsung had announced the new Galaxy Tab 3 Neo and the Galaxy NotePRO tablets in India back in February 2014 and had promised to make the devices available for sale by the last week of February or the first week of March.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo’s Wi-Fi only White variant with 8GB of in-built storage space is currently available via the online retailer. According to reports, the tablet is also already available in retail stores.
Specs-wise, the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top. The device sports a 7-inch WSVGA (600 X 1024 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor alongside with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The tablet sports a 2 megapixel rear camera with no front facing shooter. It uses a 3,600mAh battery and the tablet measures 193.4X116.4X9.7mm and weighs 310 grams. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS and 3G.
Samsung has also pre-loaded Club Samsung content store on the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo, which provides users access to language content across 5,000 movies, 4 lakh songs, 500 gigs and even Live TV with more than 90 channels. Club Samsung currently houses content in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati languages.
Furthermore, once the official launch of the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo gets underway, the device could also be offered in three new colours: Blue Green, Peach Pink and Lemon Yellow. For now, the device can be grabbed on e-retailer website, Infibeam.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo is not a bad looking tablet – in the simplest possible way – it is portable, friendly and with a solid battery back-up. And going by the asking price of Rs 16,750, the device is the cheapest of the latest generation. On the off-side though, the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo has got a handful of potent rivals to worry about, such as the Nexus 7 and Kindle who come with a competitive sticker price as well. All in all, the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo is facing an uphill battle in a crowed market where makers seem to have little choice but stretch the definition of a ‘’budget tablet” to get even an inch ahead of the competition.
