At a press event in China on 10th June, the handset maker Oppo, launched two new smartphones, dubbed as Oppo N1 Mini and Oppo R3. Touted as the world’s thinnest 4G handset, the Oppo R3 brings in a thickness profile of only 6.3mm, and on the other hand, the Oppo N1 Mini, the younger sibling of last year’s Oppo N1, boasts of a rotating 13-megapixel camera with LED Flash.
The tech giant has confirmed availability of both the devices in China at the fag-end of this month. However, there is not much information about the release of these two handsets in other countries.
Oppo N1 Mini
Sporting a 5-inch 720 p IPS HD touchscreen, the Oppo N1 Mini comes in shades of light blue, white, and lemon yellow. With 148.4 x 9.2 x 72.2 mm in dimensions, the handset weighs 150 grams.
Powered by a 1.6GHz Quad core Snapdragon SoC processor, the device holds a healthy two gigs of RAM, and runs Android overlaid with Color OS 1.4. It brings 16 GB of inbuilt storage and derives its fuel from a 2140 mAh battery. Connectivity options offered by the device are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 4G LTE, and 3G connectivity.
Similar to its predecessor, the highlight of the Oppo N1 Mini is its 13 MP Sony IMX214 sensor camera, which rotates to face the front and to the back of the handset, enabling customers to use the same camera for clicking images as well as selfies.
Other Oppo N1 Mini features include 3.5 mm audio jack, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and many more.
Oppo R3
Available in black and white color options, the Oppo R3 brags of being an extremely sleek phone. It measures 142.3 x 6.3 x 70.4 mm in dimensions and weighs merely 140 grams.
Featuring a 5-inch HD display, with 1280×720 pixels resolution, the handset runs Android OS toppled with Color OS. Under the hood, ticks a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It brings a native in-built storage of 8 GB and houses an 8 MP camera with LED Flash at the rear, paired with a 5 MP front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, and 3G.
Other Oppo R3 features include microSD slot, capacitive touchscreen, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a host of sensors.
There is no information on the price of Oppo N1 Mini or the price of Oppo R3 in India.
With amazing camera specs, exquisite design, and decent configurations, both the smartphones are capable of creating a stir in the market. However, for now, we can only eagerly wait for the devices to hit the Indian retail stores soon.
