Indian mobile manufacturer, Micromax has launched its ultra budget smartphone, the Micromax Bolt A37 in the Indian market today at Rs 3,999.
Just a week after Micromax introduced its ultra budget smartphone, the Bolt A46 in the Indian market for Rs 4,490, the Indian mobile company is in the news this week again. This time for the new Mircromax Bolt A37, which today received a price stamp of Rs 3,999 and can be ordered via company’s official website. Until yesterday, the Bolt A37 was listed on Micromax’s website without a price.
The affordable smartphone meant for entry-level customers features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 490 pixels and 262k colours. The phone is powered by 1GHz MediaTek (MTK 6572 M) processor and 256MB RAM. The dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and comes with a stock 512MB internal storage memory, which can be expanded to up to 32GB via microSD card.
For selfies, you get a VGA front facing camera, while at the back the smartphone has been affixed with a 2 megapixel camera. However, the camera does not feature LED flash or auto focus. Battery back-up is provided with a 1450mAh unit, which is said to offer 5.5 hours of talktime and standby time of 256 hours. The Bolt A37 smartphone supports 3G connectivity, WiFi, Micro USB, Bluetooth 2.1, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and FM Radio.
Overall, the week that went by has been an eventful one in the Indian mobile market, which saw four important launches of smartphones in three segments to cater to a number of buyers – the Moto G, LG G Flex, XOLO Q1100 and the aforementioned Bolt A37. While, the LG Flex that is carrying a hefty price tag of Rs 69,999 is meant for people with deep pockets, the Motorola Moto G is a budget smartphone, which is retailing for Rs 12,499. The pure Android phone that has been grabbing headlines for the past few months finally hit the market last week and has been selling like hot cakes via Flipkart.com. To counter Motorola’s Moto G, XOLO mobiles promptly introduced its Q1100 at a slightly higher price of Rs 14,999. Looking at the week that went by, we reckon a lot of customers will be looking to upgrade their respective handsets very soon, if they haven’t done it already.
