Lenovo announced two chromebooks this month – the Lenovo N20 and N20p. Expected to reach the US market in June and July respectively, the prospective buyers look forward to its launch!
Lenovo has ultimately entered the consumer Chromebook market with two products – the Lenovo N20 and N20p. Earlier Lenovo manufactured chromebooks meant for the education market only.
Announced this month both the Chromebooks – the Lenovo N20 and N20p – have similar specifications. However, the Lenovo N20p boasts of a touch screen and a display that can fold back up to 300-degrees. These two characteristics make it differ from its sibling – the Lenovo N20. These additional features of Lenovo N20p also make it a sure shot winner, since only a handful of chromebooks in the market showcase these elements.
Features & Specifications:
The significant features of Lenovo N20 include a traditional design with a non-touch display. On the other hand, the N20p follows the Yoga line of laptops, though it is foldable up to 300-degrees and not 360-degrees. With the keyboard hidden from user’s view when folded, it provides an enchanting movie-watching experience. However, it is not a replacement for a tablet, like its 360-degree foldable peers.
Both the chromebooks come with an 11.6-inch screen and a 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution. The dimensions of both are also same, at 295 x 212 x 17.9 mm. However, the weights differ. The Lenovo N20 weighs 1.3kg, and the Lenovo N20p weighs 1.4kg.
Packed with a quad-core Intel Celeron processor, both these models guarantee eight-hours of battery usage. With two USB ports, a mini HDMI output, 4GB of RAM and 16GB of local storage, expandable through a SD memory card slot, both the N20 & N20p flaunt stereo speakers, a 720p webcam, and Lenovo’s AccuType keyboard for convenient typing.
Equipped with WiFi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0, we expect Lenovo N20 to arrive next month in the US, and its sibling a month after that.
Powered by the brand guarantee from Lenovo the Lenovo N20p undergoes 25,000 rounds of rotation testing, and undoubtedly looks durable.
Price:
We anticipate the ace laptop manufacturer to set the Lenovo N20 price between $250 and $279 (about Rs. 15,500 to Rs. 16800), and the Lenovo N20p price between $299 and $329 (about Rs. 18,500 to Rs. 20,400).
With a rise in demand for chromebooks in the past 1 year, we expect these two additions from the house of Lenovo to get a warm welcome from the customers. Veterans predict Lenovo to make a few changes to the final products. However, only time will tell what the manufacturer would provide and how enthusiastically the buyers would accept these two gadgets!
