Celkon introduced its budgeted smartphone, the Celkon Campus A35K. Available at an eye-popping price, the phone has a lot to offer in terms of software, connectivity, good display, fine touch-response, and light-weight design.
Taking a cue from the popular Moto E, Hyderabad-based phone manufacturer, Celkon, has also launched its latest low-budget Android smartphone, dubbed the Celkon Campus A35K.
With an ultra-affordable price tag, this device is the country’s cheapest Android KitKat perked smartphone. It also boasts of 3G connectivity which is rarely available at such an attractive price. The company has tied up with the famous e-commerce website, Snapdeal, to retails its new flagship to its customers.
After the trendsetter Moto E entered the Indian shores, several domestic brands have flooded the market with their pocket-friendly phones. With the launch of Celkon Campus A35K, the manufacturer will face a price war with the likes of Karbonn A50s and other entry-level phones produced by local vendors. The device will also compete with other Android Kitkat powered phones, such as, Lava Iris X1, Micromax Canvas Entice, and a few others.
Sporting blue and white color options, the Celkon Campus A35K dons a glossy plastic look and is probably one of the lightest Android smartphones in the market. It measures 119x63x10.7mm in dimensions and stands at a weight of mere 102 grams.
The Celkon Campus A35K poses a 3.5-inch IPS LCD display, with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and derives its power from a 1 GHz processor paired with 256 MB of RAM. It runs on the Android v4.4 KitKat OS and packs a 1400 mAh Li-ion battery.
It brings on board an inbuilt storage of 512 MB which is expandable up to 32 GB with the help of a MicroSD card.
On the imaging front, the mobile flaunts a 3.2 MP primary camera with LED Flash. It also houses a 0.3 MP front-facing snapper for video calling and clicking selfies.
The connectivity suite of the device consists of 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and GPRS/EDGE.
Other Celkon Campus A35K features include dual-SIM, dual-standby, capacitive touchscreen, 3.55 mm audio jack, FM, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and more.
The price of Celkon Campus A35K is approximately INR 2,999.
Loaded with decent Celkon Campus A35K specs, it is undoubtedly a great option for first-time smartphone buyers and those on a restricted budget. Its paltry 256 MB of RAM is worrisome, but its latest Android OS and 3G support at such an aggressive pricing, is the highlighting aspect that differentiates it from its competitors. However, the final verdict will depend upon the real-time performance of the device.
Here’s hoping that Celkon manages to lure its customers with its modest configurations and economical pricing!
