Good buying was observed in consumer durables and metal sectors, while selling pressure was seen in banking index (bankex) and healthcare sectors.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,000.60 points, was trading at 21,054.59 points in the pre-noon session, up 20.62 points or 0.10 percent from previous day’s close at 21,033.97 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,071.18 points and a low of 20,991.98 points during trade so far.
The S&P BSE consumer durables index moved up by 78.73 points and metal index inched up by 65.28 points. However, bankex dropped by 49.15 points and healthcare index slipped by 22.62 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 9.85 points or 0.16 percent up at 6,261.55 points.
