The Dachshund, meaning “badger dog” in German, is a lively breed with a friendly personality and keen sense of smell. The Dachshund has an average height of 15 inches, which is below average compared to all other dog breeds. Therefore, the Dachshund is ideal for Indian owners who live in smaller homes (e.g. a city apartment). Dachshund, are also travel friendly and do not require as much food as bigger dogs.
