Hurrah! It’s dancing time again! The Navratri time and the Dandiya Time!
Everyone is all set in the traditional dazzling colourful outfits, the best accessories and the beautiful smiles, to hit the Dandiya destinations and make the best of each Navratri a.k.a. Dandiya Night.
For the Mumbaites, there are some super awesome Dandiya destinations that have opened their doors to give all the enthusiastic dancers, the time of their life. Have you been to any of these destinations as yet?
This famous venue is popular for Sankalp Dandiya Navratri Group’s sparkling Dandiya events every year. For all the traditional folks, this one is THE destination. Sankalp, for the past several years was the ‘home ground’ of Dandiya Queen Falguni Pathak and the acclaimed Queen was greatly responsible for making it the top venue for Dandiya in Mumbai. The organizers and Falguni have parted ways though, but the party continues.

One of the most expensive places in the Bolly City, this one promises for the absolute exquisiteness. The tickets are undoubtedly overtly priced, but they are worth every minute spent in the grounds. A huge number of popular youth bands perform here every year. All you need to do is set your Dandiya costumes, choose your partners and land in the dreamland. It can be a fabulous gift form all the guys to their loving girlfriends. Trust us, they are going to love you for this, forever.

The highlight is that the Bollywood singer Divya Kumar (‘Aafton ke Parindey’, ‘Shubhaarambh’ fame ) will be performing here for the entire duration of the festival. Most of the crowd here is going to be young and energetic. So even if you are not the dancing types, chances are that the energy here will get your feet tapping, set your mood for a few swings!

Heartthrob for many and the popular Indian Idol participant and Bollywood singer, Bhumi Trivedi (‘Ram chahey Leela’ fame) performs here each year. The plus is that the tickets and the passes for the event are not going to burn your pocket and though the place is packed everyday, you are definitely going to have the time of your life at theis venue.

If you know Falguni Pathak as the Dandiya Queen, Musa Paik is popular as the king. He is known to make the crowds go mad with dancing frenzy for three long decades now. His prolific band, Musa Paik and Crazy Beats, will perform at the MHADA grounds. Going by the past year reviews, this is going to be the most enthralling experiences you can have this Navratri, if you are up for beats and swaying without a pause.

This one is famous for Indian Idol finalist Rahul Vaidya, who performs here every year for Dandiya. This year, he will woo you with his magical voice on October 17. The best part about his performance is that not only will he perform the beloved Bollywood songs you’re waiting for, but he will also perform a set of Gujarati songs that will set the mood right. Well, Rahul or no Rahul, the Dandiya frenzy at Jashoda Rang Mandir is a pretty outstanding one. You just cannot miss it!

The famous sister-duo, Preity and Pinky perform at Pushpanjli every year with their iconic band. Dandiya fanatics from all over Mumbai reach there to shake legs and hit the Dandiyas on their melodious beats. The duo has been performing around the country since the age of five and seven respectively. Their performance is always looked forward to and we really don’t see why you shouldn’t be there!
