The high heels that were initially worn by the male warriors transferred and became an integral part of the female closet. Even if the fashion is discomforting in many ways
The war between men’s fashion and women’s fashion had been going for ages. When a woman wears a pant and a shirt she looks smart, powerful, etc. but would we be fine if we happen to witness a man sporting a mini skirt?
No it is not about cross dressing…it is about linking fashion to power.
Let us explore the most important factor in a woman’s wardrobe…the classy heels.
High heel – but wait may be it isn’t a woman’s thing after all.
Yes recently a report of high heels being sported by men of old times is doing the rounds in the internet.
This picture is of men’s shoe from the 17th century.
High heels were an essential part of the horse-riding warriors from the Middle East. That was a power quotient for them and well, you don’t expect the women to stay back when the matter is about power!
The heels as a fashion transferred from one sex to other but the power shift also generated the sex appeal to the fashion wear.
Fashion is more about making a statement. Of course the comfort factor matters but essentially your wear, your style, etc. mark your personality.

It is the power that women might have felt the need to showcase in their persona and hence the high heels that were initially worn by the male warriors transferred and became an integral part of the female closet. Even if the fashion is highly pointed towards women the link was definitely there with men.
More than the comfort factor the high heels are about the display of a strong personality.
Women have beautifully added the sex factor also to the display of strength…the product has become a combination of strong persona and sex appeal.
Sexist remark about linking heels and sex had already been explored.
For example this line from the song ‘High heels’ of Honey Singh goes like this:
Peheli baat toh yeh jo tu tik tok chalti hain…maana ye tere high heels ki galti hain
Little does the sexist know that these very heels were once worn by men.
Well high heels are not completely out of men’s fashion.
Let us not forget the cowboy boots:
The power factor is what seems to be the unique selling point of the heels more than the comfort zone.
