Don’t be ashamed to indulge in these things. You have one life, let your hair down and have fun!
The youth is easily embarrassed and doesn’t really like to experiment. We are so caught up in the social norms and socially acceptable behaviour that there some things that we are ashamed to do. But let go and just do it. Here are the things that you should do. And do often.
Watch a movie at a theatre on your own:
It’s nice to have company, we agree. But there’s nothing more fulfilling than silently enjoying your favourite movie at a theatre, on your own. There are no cancelled dates, no fight over the popcorn and no need to dress to impress. You can be your bloody self!
Fall hard in love. Don’t hide it.
Falling in love is one of the most beautiful things in the world. So when you fall hard, don’t hide it from the world. Be proud of yourself as you’re not doing anything wrong! Walk away with your head held high. Those who are laughing at you will never experience the joy of falling head over heels with someone.
Fart/burp in public:
So, you’re at a crowded place and you feel like farting/burping. Big deal…just go ahead and do it! It’s one of the most common things that everybody does. But we clam up in public, citing social reasons. Those reasons be damned. You have one frigging life, do whatever the hell you want.
To be a total goof at a party:
If you go nuts after a couple of pegs or dance with random people or point and laugh at others…it’s okay to be a goof once in a while, as long as it’s not derogatory. Nobody is ‘put together’ all the time, it’s fine to let go and enjoy.
To not share food:
Joey doesn’t share food and was loved by all, isn’t it? Well, if you’re like the ‘Friends’ character who hates splitting his/her favourite food with others, it’s totally okay. If there’s one blueberry cheesecake and four people around…chances are, I would not open my box at all!
