House parties are a super fun way to enjoy the summer. Cold beer, sizzling food and a bunch of your besties are all you need to make your weekend party a happening one. But what if you have a minimum budget? Well, you can still have a rocking party…here’s how! Read on…

BYOB:
When having a budget-party, tell your fiends to follow the decorum of BYOB or Bring Your Own Booze. This way, everybody will save up on alcohol as you’re paying only for what you’re going to drink. If you’re a beer person, why should you split with everybody for whiskey and scotch, right? Generally, when people being their own booze, they don’t tend to get smash drunk as the alcohol is not ‘on the house’. It’s a good way to minimise post-party mess too.
Finger foods:
Want to not spend a bomb on food? Stick to finger foods, quick snacks and non-messy items as elaborate spreads can shoot the bill up. Also, nobody would be in the mood to gorge on lavish foods that can mess up your arrangements and stain your linen and other items. Since after a couple of rounds of alcohol, nobody would be in a state to eat in a civilised manner and it’ll mostly be pushing and shoving, keep it simple. Finger foods might be time consuming, but the efforts are worth it…and you’ll save a lot on it.

Homemade playlist:
Assign anybody with a decent music sense to make a playlist, so you need not call in a DJ over. Even if you’re not aware of all the hit songs, make a list that will get everybody on the floor. Keep the music a mix of Bollywood and Hollywood, so all your guests can have fun! Dancing will also help you work your alcohol off.

Strictly follow the guest list:
Unlike other parties, a budget-party works on a strict guest list policy where everybody RSVPs before coming over. And no, they can’t bring in a guest without informing the host about it. As foods and accommodation will go for a toss. Unless you RSVP to plus1, don’t bring a date along. This way, you’ll avoid hungover and throwing-up-on-rug bunch too!
In pyjamas or casuals:
If you don’t want to spend on fancy clothes and accessories, make your party a pyjama- only or casual-only one. This way, nobody needs to bother about purchasing stuff for the fun night. And casuals scream of comfort and relaxed fun, which is exactly what everybody is looking for!

With the weekend already upon us, we hope these points will help your party become a smash hit! But with alcohol, crazy bunch of friends and too many junk snacks around, the party can get out of your hands. So the host has to stay sober… Ah, well, who are we kidding!
