Pakistan’s Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani today said terrorists won’t be allowed to take advantage of the ongoing peace building efforts.
While reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s support to the political process, Kayani said terrorists would not be allowed to take advantage of it, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
“It is understandable to give peace a chance through a political process but no one should have any misgivings that we would let terrorists coerce us into accepting their terms. Army has the ability and the will to take the fight to the terrorists,” the APP quoted Kayani as saying.
Kayani’s remarks came after three Pakistani military officers were killed in an explosion near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday.
Maj. Gen. Sanaullah, Lt. Col. Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar were killed when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Upper Dir area, Geo News had reported, citing the army’s media wing.
