The Sky News-Arabia television channel reported that the government meeting is being presided over by First Vice Premier Sadiq Abdulrahman.
The government has already confirmed the prime minister’s kidnapping.
According to earlier information, armed men on Thursday forced their way into Tripoli’s Corinthia Hotel which houses the headquarters of the Head of Cabinet.
Threatening Zeidan with weapons, the militants took him away to an unknown destination.
No Libyan group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
According to reports, the Prime Minister was possibly arrested by local special services on charges of a crime that bears a threat to the country’s national security.
The Attorney-General’s Office, which supposedly issued an arrest warrant, has not confirmed the information.
Sky News-Arabia reported that the kidnapping of the Libyan premier may be connected with the arrest of Al Qaeda leader Abu Anas al-Libi by US special forces on Saturday.
