These Politicians Around The World Were Subject To Brutal Assassination

Politicians assassination – Murder is obnoxious, be it of a civilian or a politician. It is really appalling to see how some murderers get away with committing heinous crimes. Some of the cases that created a furore, the convict got capital punishment but there have been no slash in crime rates still.

However, when a politician is killed, there is a mighty reason at play and the reason is hunger for power. Politics ad dynasties could never perpetuate without bloodbath if we look at the history. The person who is in power becomes the target to many green eyed monsters who vie for his position and fame.

They would stoop to the low of gunning them down or blowing them off with a bomb driven by envy and craving for power and here are some instances of how some renowned politicians were killed in broad daylight by their rivals and the world didn’t bat an eyelid:

1 – Indira Gandhi:

The former Prime Minister of India was assassinated at 9:20 am on 31st October, 1984 at her New Delhi residence by her own bodyguard because the Sikhs belonging to the Khalistani movement didn’t cotton to her decision of approving operation blue star.

2 – Rajiv Gandhi:

The former Prime Minister of India were made a subject to suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur, Chennai. A Tamil militant organization, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam took responsibility of the crime.

3 – Benazir Bhutto:

The twice Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto was gunned down in Rawalpindi, Pakistan during her campaigns of elections 2008. Shots were fired at her during a political rally and she was declared dead after doctors inspected. Al-Qaeda commander Mustafa Abu al-Yazid took responsibility of the crime.

4 – John F Kennedy:

The 35th President of United States, was assassinated in the year 1963 at Dallas, Texas during a presidential motorcade at Dealey Plaza. He was accompanied by his wife Jacqueline while shots were fired at him and he was declared dead at the hospital. A former U.S Marine Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for committing the crime who was slammed with the Texas State Law for murdering the President but oddly enough, he too was brutally shot in the Dallas Police Headquarters by Dallas Nightclub operator Jack Ruby for unknown reasons.

5 – Mahatma Gandhi:

Mahatma Gandhi was a significant part of Indian freedom movement and was the pioneer of non-violence in India. However, our father of the nation too fell prey to an assassin called Nathuram Godse, a Right wing advocate of Hindu Nationalism and a Member of the political party Hindu Mahasabha who fired three bullets at the point blank range on Mahatma Gandhi thereby causing his instant death. Gandhi was assassinated in the Birla house during a conference.
