Pati-Patni Aur Woh: Sunanda’s Twitter Noise, Mehr’s Denial And Shashi’s Silence!

One needs no proof of the fact that Congress minister Shashi Tharoor is a real heart-throb. He is perhaps the ony politician whose love life has always been in news. Married thrice, he has apparently been caught pants down by his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

The beans of this love triangle was spilled on twitter when the third person in the scene, Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar and alleged lover of Tharoor, received slewd messages from Tharoor’s twitter handle. Oddly enough, it was Pushkar who had sent these tweets as she admitted to logging into her husband’s twitter account and doing so.

“Our accounts have not been hacked and I have been sending out these tweets. I cannot tolerate this. This is a Pakistani woman who is an ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) agent, and she is stalking my husband. And you know how men are. He is flattered by the attention. I took upon myself the crimes of this man during IPL (Indian Premier League). I will not allow this to be done to me. I just can’t tolerate this. I have nothing more to say,” Pushkar categorically told the Economic Times

Embarrased Tharoor had no option but to say that his account was “hacked” by “someone” and that he was deactivating it for some day.

While we do not approve of hacking into someone’s account, what Pushkar did, if the charges of this “pati, patni aur who” angle are true, was indeed interesting. Keeping aside her grammatical mistakes (it is a microblogging site and what else do you expect from a women in rage?), her charges on Mehr that she is an ISI agent in love with Tharoor was an odd one. Well, there is a difference between being interesting and frivolous.

There is also difference in her statements to different channels. While to the Indian Express, Pushkar said she would now “seek divorce” from Tharoor, she denied the charges on NDTV and said that she has “no intention at the moment to leave her husband”, whom she termed a “happily married man”.

To CNN-IBN, she said that it was Mehr who was stalking her husband and hacking into his account. “There is a girl called Mehr who is hacking into Tharoor’s computer, my computer, she is obsessed with this man. She is an ISI agent. We are not having any problem. We have a hacker, a Pakistani ISI agent,” Pushkar told CNN-IBN.

“This is a serious issue I am going to have her behind bars. This is a national emergency. I am going to go to Indian consulate, Pakistan consulate. She is an ISI agent planted here in India, she came and interviewed my husband in April and is stalking him. I have heard from Pakistani sources that she is an ISI agent,” she said.

Meanwhile, Economic Times, managed to contact Mehr Tarar too who said she is going to sue Pushkar for calling her an ISI agent. “Is it so easy to become an ISI agent?” Tarar was quoted by the paper as asking.

“Why am I defending myself? If someone has gone insane then why are you asking me questions? I am a housewife, I have a kid,” Tarar went on to tell Times Now. “I don’t even know where this has come from. This is completely untrue. She is lying.”

Tarar said her only interaction with Tharoor was when she interviewed him for an article article called Meeting Shashi Tharoor, when his “views as a politician fascinated me”.

Later on, she tweeted: “Have just been approached by an Indian ch 2 respond. Said what I had to. They want it on camera;not doing it.

DIRT doesn’t deserve a response For a woman to trash another woman linking her w/her husband is the lowest form of sickness ever. It’s nauseous.

No respect for her marriage So I ‘stalk’ on bbm and phone. The last I checked it was a two-way thing, or maybe technology changed while I ‘stalked’? T

he blonde’s aqal is weaker thn her grammar & spellings. From an ‘affair’ it has become ‘stalking’..make up yr mind, darlin’.Which one is it?”

Its seems Tarar is accepting to the crime. There was indeed connection between her and Tharoor if she talks about “two-way things”.

Also, in her column in The Daily Times, Pakistan after meeting Tharoor in April,2013 : “The debonair Tharoor is one of those rare individuals who are a pleasure to meet: well-read, well-travelled, well-spoken, very smart and witty, yet disarmingly down to earth. This is one minister who gives niyatam kuru karma tvam, karma jyayo hy akarmanah a new suave connotation (time to google translate, dear readers,), as there are numerous meetings to chair; to give interviews; stacks of files with various bureaucratic proposals to clear; answers to Parliament questions concerning his ministry to approve (or edit and reject), in addition to receiving visitors, petitioners, MPs making demands. Phew, even hearing about it made me think how Garfield and many a Pakistani parliamentarian wouldn’t have approved of the work-ethic of this very rare, conscientious-about-his-work minister.”

In one of her columns (Daily Times, Oct20,2013), Mehr Tarar had hinted about a “special”twitter relationship. “My parting words: here’s to the thousands who interact/interacted with me, making my Twitter experience special by reading, appreciating and retweeting my tweets. Here’s to all those wonderful people whom I respect greatly and who have became my extended Twitter family. Here’s to a few I actually became friends with. And here’s to that special one (you know who you are!) who makes Twitter an experience to cherish…forever. Thank you…”

Well, now there is no point for guessing who it was.

Again the ISI angle become a thing to probe more. Pushkar’s words, “…I took upon myself the crimes of this man during IPL (Indian Premier League). I will not allow this to be done to me…” indicate towards one incident when there were insinuations of Tharoor being trapped by the ISI through Pushkar and an affiliate of Dawood in Dubai, which led to the IPL fiasco and his marriage to Pushkar. Was this ISI agent and Dawood affiliate Mehr?

Everything can become clear only after Tharoor responds. For now, he is silent.
