A senior police officer told IANS that motorcycle-borne militants fired at a police party in Awantipora town of Pulwama district, 30 km from Srinagar.
“Two civilians, including a woman identified as Sabina of Srinagar, and Rafiq Sheikh of Anantnag town were injured in the firing. They were taken to hospital,” the officer said.
Guerrillas had Monday killed a CRPF trooper and a policeman in two separate attacks in south Kashmir’s Shopian and Anantnag districts, respectively.
