Reuben and Keenan Case
Reuben and Keenan Case is closed as Mumbai sessions court has convicted all four accused in the Keenan-Rueben murder case viz. Jitendra Rana, Sunil Bodh, Satish Dulhaj and Dipak Tival and sentenced them to life imprisonment till death.
Ujjwal Nikam had been appointed as the public prosecutor.
“I wanted death sentence for the accused. They should live every moment thinking about Keenan and Reuben, what they did to them, they should think about how we are living our life, how Keenan’s younger brother is living his life…” Keenan’s father Valerian Santos said after a special women’s court pronounced its verdict.
About Reuben and Keenan Case
On October 20, 2011, Keenan then 24, and Reuben, 29 were out with their friends and women in their group were sexually molested by four men. Keenan and Ruben helped the friends by backing off the goons.
But after a while, the group were back with more than ten people and attacked Keenan and Reuben. The whole incident took place at public spot and bystanders didn’t budge to help them.
Unfortunately, Keenan died on same day and Reuben battled for his life but after few days he succumbed to his wounds
Reuben and Keenan Case: Charges were framed and other perpetrators were released
The four killers, now convicted, were arrested the next day. A fast-track court framed charges against them for murder, conspiracy and molestation.
But besides them many other perpetrators of the murder were arrested with charges of rioting but they were released on bail.
We are glad that finally justice has been meted out. We hope that such cases never ever happen in future !
