Rajnikanth, Original name is Shivaji Rao Gaikwad – born on 12th December 1950, is an Indian Actor. He started his career as an actor in National Film Fare Award Winning Tamil film Apoorva Raagagal in 1975 being directed by his mentor K. Balchander.
In his struggle period, he worked as Bus Conductor in the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. He used to act in plays before he joined Madras Film Instutute for acting diploma. After playing small roles in regional films, he began to rise and gradually became Matinee Idol. It was his mannerism, his unique style of action, and delivering the dialogues made him super star.
He also became the highest paying actor in Asia.
He won number of awards including Tamilnadu State Film Award, Filmfare Awards, Padma Bhushan Award. He also worked as writer, producer, and politician.
