Public Display of Affection, whether to engage in it or not is a major dilemma faced by couples of the modern era.
With moral policing and wandering eyes following them everywhere, a couple really needs to be strong when it comes to retaliation of the searching eyes.
Nevertheless, many couples do practice PDA which, at times, makes other people around uncomfortable.
If you are single and witness one such activity in public, there are certain thoughts that are bound to cross your mind. Here is a list of those few notions –
“Are they allowed to do that?”
Since many people consider PDA unethical, judging by the Indian culture, this is usually the first deliberation that comes to you naturally.
“What more can they do?”
It might be just a hug or a peck on the cheek, but sometimes, you just want to see how ballsy the couple is and whether or not they can take it up a notch.
“Can I discreetly get a picture?”
The thought of getting a quick picture of the couple showing affection to one another can be freakishly weird…and not to mention risky. If the thought crosses your mind, control the urge.
“Somebody kill me”
When you are single (or have had a failed relationship), watching a couple together can bring back memories. Though you may not oppose their act, you just want them to stop.
“Yeah…I could take him”
One such thought crosses your mind when you have a scornful personality. If the girl is pretty, you tend to compare her with the guy’s personality and eventually this thought runs across.
“If I take him down, would she go out with me?”
This is the next stage of the thought process of the contemptuous attitude. You don’t only want to embarrass the man, but want to win the girl’s heart, too. In the real world, that will never happen.
“What does she see in him?”
This is usually the ‘langoor ke haath mein angoor’ sort of situation. You judge both personalities and eventually come to terms that the girl is too good to be with the guy.
“I’m gonna die alone”
This does not insinuate lost hope, but just a momentary lapse of judgement. Singlehood is something that you are tired of and the thought of being alone for the rest of your life creeps you out.
“Where are the moral police?”
The modern times is no stranger to moral policing and you just wonder if the couple would get beat up if a group of moral police shows up.
“Wish their parents see this”
This is where the sadist part inside you takes over. The PDA apparently has become so torturous that you wish the couple’s parents or a relative catches them in the act and creates a ruckus.
