Hollywood films title translations – Thanks to the extraordinary screenplay by Hollywood writers, Bollywood directors have made crores of rupees by remaking the original films.
It is about time that we give the Hollywood world something back. Although we do not have original Bollywood scripts on offer, we can certainly give something that will light up their moods (…if they understand, that is).
Nevertheless, us Indians will certainly laugh heartily after looking at these Hollywood films title translations into Hindi.
Hollywood films title translations –
1 – Zor Se Mar (Die Hard)
Die Hard is an action movie starring Bruce Willis as John McClane, who fights off criminals led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), who has taken over the Nakatomi Plaza building during an office Christmas party.
2 – Toota Hua Sheher (Broken City)
Released in 2013, Broken City is a crime-thriller film starring the veteran Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg. The movie was a box office dud and we don’t believe translation of the movie’s title into Toota Hua Sheher would help in any way.
3 – Bhayankar Maalik (Horrible Bosses)
This 2011 black comedy movie has an ensemble cast where three lead characters play employees, whereas the other three play the ‘Horrible Bosses’. If you have seen this movie, you must know that it has some of the best scenes and deserved to be a commercial success. Bhayankar Maalik Dwitiya is set to release in November 2014.
4 – Thandiyon Ke Kisse (Winter’s Tale)
If you are into supernatural allegories, Winter’s Tale is one of the options. Starring Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay, the movie revolves around a burglar, who falls in love with an heiress when she dies. The film’s twist is where the Farrell learns that he has the supernatural ability to resurrect the dead and he embarks on a mission to save her.
5 – Kamaal Ka Makdi-Manav (The Amazing Spiderman)
The Amazing Spiderman is the reboot film series, wherein Peter Parker is forced to go against his father’s former work partner, Dr. Kurt Connors, who has transformed into The Lizard. A commercial success, the movie was well-accepted in India, too.
6 – Koi Desh Nhi Buddhon Ke Liye (No Country for Old Men)
No Country for Old Men is one of the best neo-Western thrillers, directed by Coen Brothers, in 2007. The movie won several accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Picture. The movie stars Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin.
We could list several other Hollywood films, whose titles can be tackily translated into the Hindi language.
But we guess this torture was enough.
