7 Reasons You Should Stop Watching Sitcoms And Follow Indian TV Soaps

If you think of gaining some extra knowledge, other than your syllabus or hobby books, it’s time you started watching our very own TV soaps. Just an episode and you will get to know all about the history and geography of the show. You might not know who’s contesting for elections from your place, or even why studying history is important, but you’ll definitely be able to reason all the practical things in life. We tell you why watching Indian TV soaps is beneficial. Read on!

1.    Time flies
Remember when your elders told you Samaybeetnemeinwaqtnahilagta? Seems television industry was the only thing who took it seriously. You skip an episode, and in the next you get to see the parents become grandparents, and the family rivalry still continues. Also there is always one grandson or granddaughter to keep the family legacy going. Quite practical, no?

2.    Science is indeed fictious
That scene when the lady falls off the stairs and keeps rolling till she gets to the door, while someone is stepping in. Remember? Scenes like these will make your belief about science being fictious, stronger like never before. Probably make you question whatever you might have learnt in physics, chemistry or biology till date.

3.    Outfit trends
Ladies, I am very sure, this is one of the major reasons you never miss an episode. The only place where you get to check out all about ethnic Indian fashion for women, and men. Also, these serials also teach you to totally pull off your make up when you get up, bright, in the morning.

4.    Saves your time
Unlike sitcoms, which has a full season of twenty episodes, even if you miss out on twenty episodes of your serial, you can easily predict what would have happened in the previous episodes. There’s always that scene when a guy is shot in the head, has to confess a lot. And the confession continues until two more episodes. Phew!

5.    No crime or criminal prevails
C.I.D- the name says it all. Even CSI wouldn’t have been so successful in all its crime diminishing, criminal detecting endeavours. ACP Pradyuman, Daya and Abhijeet are those pillars of common sense and intelligence which eventhe CSI looks up to. Tell me, do you ever feel positive while watching a detective sitcom?

6.    Lessons to be a one man army
Bored of moral science lectures in school? We have a solution. Tune in to any daily soap on Indian television and watch it colour your lessons. A giant cauldron of social goodness, they motivate you to solve all the family issues, societal problems and abort at least one evil man in the lot.

7.    We present with music and drama
The Indian TV soaps teach you to be happy. When you’re happy, you sing and dance. And the world sings and dances with you. There’salways that dream sequence with the dupattaflowing with the wind. And mind you, this is not only limited to the lovey-dovey or saas-bahu serials. Even our rulers in the past believed in the flowing dupatta.
