New super-villains:
Thor, the son of Asgard, fought his evil stepbrother – Loki in the previous two films (Thor, The Avengers) and will be meeting
1. Malekith the Accursed (played by Christopher Eccleston)
One of the fiercest enemies of Thor. He is the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim and possesses superhuman intellect, strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes.
2. Algrim/Kurse (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) also makes an appearance in the movie. Kurse is Malekith’s loyal lieutenant who is transformed into a monstrous creature in order to destroy Thor.
Thor’s hammer – Mjolnir
Thor’s main weapon is his Hammer – Mjolnir. With the help of Mjolnir, Thor can defeat any evil power that comes his way.
Did you know: During the filming of the movie, 30 hammers were made for Thor of various weights for different uses. Of the 30, five versions were used most often, including the ‘lit hammer,’ that emits light when lightning strikes.
